How do you think getting a hair transplant affected your social life?

It didn’t really affect my social life much because I’m a confident person and was still going out. However, it definitely had an impact on my internal confidence. I’m 24 now, and when I lost my hair, I was a lot younger, so it did have an effect on me emotionally.

How do you think Istanbul played a part in your hair transplant journey?

I’m from the UK, and many doctors there say you should get procedures done locally. There’s often a negative perception around going to Istanbul for a hair transplant. But when I arrived, all my worries disappeared. The doctors at Estenove were very experienced. I felt confident in their skills. Plus, being in Istanbul made it a two-in-one experience—I got my hair transplant while also exploring a beautiful city.

How was the transition over the months? What did you feel as your hair was growing? Were you scared? How did friends and family react?

I kept track of my progress from day one by taking videos and pictures. The first three months were tough because of the shedding phase, and I was wondering if it would work. After four to six months, I could see real growth, and it was exciting. It was hard to be patient, but by six months, I was back to normal. My friends and family noticed and complimented how much thicker my hair looked.

The aftercare was amazing! Estenove made a WhatsApp group for me to stay in contact. I asked so many questions—when can I go to the gym? Can I do this or that? Is my hair looking okay? In the past, young men didn’t talk about hair transplants much. Many just accepted hair loss even though it affected their confidence. But now, more people in the UK are openly discussing it and feel confident getting it done. It’s not about drastically changing your appearance—it’s about restoring what was already there.

Any advice for people who might be worried about getting a hair transplant?

Don’t worry about what other people think. You’ll be shocked at how little people care. Even if you get a transplant and go out with a swollen head, no one will notice because everyone is busy with their own lives. If you want to do it, do it for yourself.
